AEGION HOLDINGS PORTUGAL, LDA ("Aegion Holdings," "we," "us," or "our"), with registered office at Praceta Bernardo Sassetti, 1, 25 — Porto Salvo, Oeiras — 2740-315 Lisboa, Portugal, is the controller of personal data processed through aegionholdings.net. We process personal information only for legitimate business purposes: operating this website, responding to inquiries, providing administrative and business support services, maintaining business relationships, complying with law, and protecting our rights.
Information we collect
We collect the information you submit through the contact form or correspondence — name, business name, email address, and the content of your inquiry — together with any information you voluntarily provide. Our hosting infrastructure also records standard technical data (IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, pages viewed, timestamps) in server logs.
Purposes and legal bases (GDPR)
We process personal data under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Portuguese Law no. 58/2019 on the following bases: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time; steps prior to entering a contract or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)), including accounting and tax rules; and our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in operating, securing and promoting our business, where not overridden by your rights. Marketing communications are only sent where permitted and always with an opt-out.
Service providers
We use a web hosting provider to operate this website and an email provider to receive and answer messages, acting as processors under Art. 28 GDPR agreements. We do not currently use third-party analytics, advertising, CRM, or scheduling tools on this website. If that changes, this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated first.
International transfers
Data is processed within the European Union where possible. Where a provider processes data outside the EU/EEA, appropriate safeguards under Chapter V GDPR (such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses) are used.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes collected, including contractual, tax (typically 10 years under Portuguese law for accounting records), legal, security, and dispute-resolution needs. Contact inquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within 24 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, and port your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese supervisory authority, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD, www.cnpd.pt), or with your local EU supervisory authority.
